A fun monthly outdoor parent and toddler group with a nature theme. Each session will include a messy craft activity, time to explore the beautiful outdoors, story and song time. Sessions run on the second and fourth monday of the month with a different theme each month.  Please note, sessions on the fourth Monday are a repeat of the session on the first Monday.  Please only book one session per month.

*There will be only one session in December.*

Much of the session will take place outside, so please dress for the weather. 

Meeting Point: Discovery Den. 
Time: 10am-11.30am
Age:  2yrs+

Adults may bring up to two paying children.  Maximum of 1 adult per booking.

February 2022 theme: Animal sounds and music
March 2022 theme: Spring.
April 2022 theme: Flowers and gardening.
May 2022 theme: Wind and things that fly.
June 2022 theme: The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
July 2022 theme: Teddy Bears.
August 2022 theme: Minibeasts.

We are pleased to welcome back our home educators group although we have a few changes to meet current covid secure processes. Here at Ferry Meadows we will be running outdoor learning sessions every month for home schooled children. Each session will have curriculum and nature focused activities, with each month having a different theme.  Sessions run on the second and fourth Monday of the month, however please note, sessions on the fourth Monday are a repeat of the session on the first Monday.  Please only book one session per month.

Much of the session will take place outside so please dress for the weather. 
                                  
Meeting Point: Outside the Discovery Den. 
Times: 1.15pm-3.15pm. 
Suitable for: Ages 5-11yrs
All children attending need to have a booked place.

September 2022 theme: Workshop run by Co-Op - (1) Healthy Choices Workshop, which includes fruit tastings and covers 5 a day, portion sizes, labelling, traffic light symbols, waste etc. (2) Fairtrade, with chocolate mindfulness and a greater understanding of Fairtrade and the benefits.

Join our regular social walking group to keep fit, explore new areas of Nene Park and make new friends.  Walks are led by a member of the Nene Park Team and are approximately 5 km  (3 miles) in distance.  Each month we will explore a different area of Nene Park. Age guide 14yrs+.

Join June from Semperart at this beginners workshop to make your own unique fused glass.

During the session you will
* Learn about the nature of glass to inform your designs and creations
* Design the pieces you intend to make
* Choose a variety of glass to create your designs
* Learn how to use inclusions in your pieces (copper, silver)

Once your pieces are complete, they will be fired in a kiln.  This can take up to 48 hours, depending on the processes used, so your pieces can be collected in approximately one week, from the visitor centre.

Suitable for: 12yrs+ under 18's must be accompanied by an adult

·       This event will take place in wooded and grassland areas and will involve crossing uneven ground.

·       Children must be accompanied by an adult and all participating children need to have booked a space.

Wednesday, we will be Drawing & painting activities with artist Madiha Ashiq.

Thursday , will be based around Drawing sculptures in the landscape at Thorpe Meadows Sculpture Trail.

With monthly sessions starting in September.

Sessions are FREE, but booking is essential.

Monthly sessions begin in September for the autumn term:

10 September, Block printing & painting on fabric with artist Madhu Manipatruni

1 October, Drawing & making inspired by artworks by Antony Caro & John Maine

5 November, Photo walk and drawing activities

3 December, Drawing and printing from nature

£20 for all 4 sessions, (no part refund if you are unable to make a session).
